La dignidad es el carácter de lo que tiene valor de fin en si, y no solamente de medio. La dignidad de la persona humana es el valor particular que presenta todo hombre o mujer en tanto que hombre o mujer (es decir, en tanto que razonable y libre, o en tanto que persona), y que merece el respeto de todos.

Estudiante: “¿Maestro, cuál es el secreto de su serenidad?” 

Maestro: “Comprender la vida, comprenderme a mi mismo, y cooperar incondicionalmente con lo inevitable.”

Student: "Master, what is the secret of your serenity?" 

Fools lack metacognition or the ability to step back and look at their incompetence from outside themselves, thus they overvalue themselves and devaluate others from their own limited and highly subjective point of view.  

As wisely stated by George Bernard Shaw: "power does not corrupt men; fools, however, if they get into a position of power, corrupt power."
